December Employee Spotlight: Elizabeth Robinson

on

Content Specialist, Elizabeth Robinson

How long have you worked for the company?   Since September, 2010.

What do you do in the course of the work week?  My responsibilities include training and monitoring the other researchers and making sure the content they input is done correctly. I answer any questions they might have throughout the week and get them any images they need for new merchants. I also make any and all changes to the content that the hotels request (Amenity image changes, adding menus, new information about their hotel, etc.) and push the updates if needed.

I’ve recently learned how to edit the XML files for offsite Monscierge boards to be able to change the airport codes, printer messages, etc., also to connect printers, and change the date and time. Ryan usually does those things but has taught me how to do them for when he is not available.

Also, I have been helping with fixing errors that cause problems with some of the 1.8 boards and trying to fix them before sending them off to development. I create the demo devices for the sales team as well as enter all new real devices into Salesforce, creating their username and passwords for their events editor, and so on. I help with customer service, answering the phones when others are on break and trying to fix any issues I can when Amy is not available. I’ve created a few custom builds for various merchants including, WorkForce1, Robert Morris University, and Elements Caregiver Collective.

What is your favorite thing to do with your time away from work?  I love to play tennis, bike ride, shop, and hang out with my boyfriend and family.

What is your most rewarding or satisfying experience since joining the company? I can’t say that I can think of one particular thing that has been the most satisfying. I really enjoy what I do and being able to make the customers happy. I am proud to present the demos to the sales team and Marcus and get the recognition for doing a good job, but even that is a team effort. I enjoy working with James and Ryan on fixing particular hotels issues and learning how to do it myself. It is always a rewarding feeling to know that I have the power to make it right and to make the customer happy.

Before working here, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had? Although I’ve had many different jobs in my life, I can’t say I’ve had any that more interesting than Monscierge. If I had to pick one, I would probably say my job at Northeastern State University Library.

What is your favorite thing about your job? That it is always changing and new. I learn something new every day and work with a very knowledgeable team who are always so willing to teach me.

What do you think sets Monscierge apart from the competition? Not only do we have the most up-to-date and easy to use software that I’ve seen, but also the fact that we recommend the best places in the city to go, not just every place in the city. We have a recommendation board, not an advertising board.
